Counselling

“I can’t believe how much of a difference fifty minutes spent with someone who actually cares about you, can help.”

Our team of qualified, experienced counsellors, supported by student counsellors provides an effective service where people can find healing, restoration, and strength and where they can also be resourced for personal growth.

We provide people with the opportunity to talk to a counsellor in a confidential setting. Clients are treated in ways that are respectful and sensitive to cultural values, religious beliefs, gender issues and disabilities. Bays Youth offers individual or group counselling sessions. The power always remains in the hands of the client and counselling can be stopped at any time.

“My life is great, there are times when I have setbacks but I now have the tools I need to deal with my problems. I’m a lot happier as well.”

While it is important that money does not prevent any person from seeking counselling, there are considerable costs involved. It is also professionally recognised that it is desirable for clients to make some contribution towards the cost of their counselling. Bays Youth have a standard charge for counselling. However if fees are a problem Bays Youth can (in certain circumstances), apply for funding on behalf of clients. WINZ clients can also receive financial support. If counselling fees become a barrier, Bays Youth is willing to discuss ways to make it possible for people to receive counselling.
